Care and Support

Because No One Walks Alone At Grace United Methodist Church, we believe that the body of Christ is meant to bear one another’s burdens. Life brings both joy and sorrow, and while faith gives us strength, we were never meant to walk this journey by ourselves. Whether you’re facing illness, loss, loneliness, or simply need someone to pray with you, Grace UMC is here.

A Community of Care We see care as ministry — an act of love that reflects the heart of Jesus. He listened to the hurting, comforted the grieving, and met people where they were. That’s what we strive to do, too. Our Care & Support ministries remind each person that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by God.

Prayer Ministry Prayer is at the center of who we are. Our congregation prays daily for those who ask for prayer — for healing, peace, strength, or direction. You can share your prayer request during worship, by contacting the church office, or through our online prayer form.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6

Prayer Cloth Ministry This simple yet powerful ministry sends small hand-stitched cloths to those who are ill, grieving, or in crisis. Each cloth is prayed over by our members as a tangible reminder that God’s presence surrounds you and your church family is lifting you up. If you or someone you love needs a prayer cloth, please let us know.

Pastoral Care Sometimes what we need most is someone to listen, pray, and remind us that God hasn’t forgotten us. Pastor Cheryl is available for visits, counseling, and prayer support for anyone in need. Whether it’s in your home, the hospital, or at the church, pastoral care is a ministry of compassion and hope.

Grief and Encouragement When we lose someone we love, the world can feel unfamiliar and heavy. Our church community offers support for those walking through grief — through prayer, conversation, and companionship. On All Saints Sunday, we remember and celebrate the lives of those who have gone before us, giving thanks for the promise of eternal life in Christ.

Community of Presence Sometimes the most powerful act of care isn’t fixing a problem but simply being there. Grace UMC members visit those who are homebound or recovering, write notes of encouragement, and check in regularly with those who need to know they’re not forgotten.
